Bogaz is a beautiful cable bridge which is the first bridge to be built on the Bosphorus Strait. This bridge is named 15 Temmuz Şehitler Köprüsü in memory of the failed coup in 2016 and its martyrs. The building process of this bridge started in 29 October, 1970 and was opened in 1973 as the first bridge in Istanbul. This bridge is 1150 meters long, 39 meters wide and its distance from the sea level is 105 meters. This bridge is one the symbols for Istanbul and at nights, it shines bright like a diamond that connects Asia to Europe. According to historians, a man was able to move from Asia to Europe by putting the ships together, like a moving bridge. That person was Darius, king of Iran.

The bridge was built by the British company, Freeman Fox and Partner.
